Latest PSVR2 system update Obviously you now have PC access and no longer have to use any workarounds to get your device working. This has been noted by a VR tech expert and his VR accessory maker, both speculating that Sony plans to allow him to connect his PSVR 2 directly to his PC in the future.
You need an adapter to connect PSVR 2 to your PC
Sony announced in late February that it would be “testing” the ability to add PC access to VR headsets, allowing device owners to play PC VR games and expand their libraries. This feature is still in the testing phase, so we don't know what the final outcome will be. However, he noted on Twitter that VR accessory maker iVRy still requires some sort of adapter to connect PSVR 2 to his PC.
“PSVR2 requires a USB-C port that provides 12V power and an alternate DisplayPort,” iVRy explained. “The only PC port that can do that is VirtualLink (obsolete). So anyone who doesn't have one of these ports on their desktop GPU will need some sort of adapter. How to get around this? there is no.”
Rumors are circulating that Sony will temporarily halt production of PSVR 2 due to an accumulation of unsold inventory.
