John Legend says pet sitter for Bird family likely to become permanent

The kids seem to like it, but there's a bit of a heartbreaking backstory as to how Audrey came into their hands…and it also involves John's stepfather. Ron.

As JL explains here, the Legends are simply taking care of Ron for now as he battles serious health issues – an issue that John candidly talks about in the not-too-distant future. This means that there is a high possibility that Ron will die. Therefore, the family is ready to accept Audrey.

As John says…Audrey is likely to outlive Ron in the big picture, so they're getting used to having Audrey in their fold. It's just their new pet.

Speaking of animal friends…John talked about dog walking and dog poop. He has been doing it for years since living in New York, so he says he has no problem learning. He is the owner of several dogs himself and is now a veterinarian in the field, he says.

John also says that if you can foster a pet, you can probably do anything.
