Mark Zuckerberg announced that Threads is rolling out a “Trending Now” feature that helps you find timely topics that others are discussing. At this time, this feature is only available in the US
Since Threads launched in July, we've heard feedback that we want to help people find timely topics and see and participate in conversations that interest them. Trending Now can be found on the search page and in the For You feed of threads. Displays up to 5 trending topics. These topics are determined by a machine learning AI system based on what people are currently working on on the thread. Select a topic to display search results for that topic. Topics are not customized to you.Shows you what's trending across apps in the US
Our AI system determines what is being discussed in the Threads community based on a number of signals, such as the number of posts created about a particular topic and the number of people engaging with those posts. Topics are selected by an AI system from all posts that people are talking about in a thread, not just news articles that people are sharing.
After a topic is selected, our team of content specialists reviews the topic and the corresponding search results. Specialists do not cherry-pick topics, but they do not violate community or recommended guidelines, are overlapping, nonsensical, or misleading.
We continually test and iterate our technology to ensure that our machine learning AI system is delivering the right topics that don't violate our guidelines. You can also report potentially problematic content to us by reporting a topic. Select a topic, press the three-dot menu in the top right, and select the “Report Topic” option.
Threads is a new app built by Instagram for text-based updates and public conversations. Since we launched Threads last July, we've been hard at work adding new features to improve your app experience, including the web experience, following feeds, the ability to edit posts, search by keyword, native GIFs, tagging, and more. Ta. Post topics, post pinning, etc. Threads is available worldwide at www.threads.net, the Apple App Store, and the Google Play Store.
We'll continue to listen to your feedback and introduce more features to improve your experience with Threads.
