M. Emmett Walsh, unforgettable character actor of 'Blood Simple' and 'Blade Runner', dies at 88
LOS ANGELES (AP) — Beloved character actor M. Emmett Walsh has died. Walsh's manager, Sandy Joseph, announced that he died Tuesday in Vermont at the age of 88. Ms. Walsh brought her unmistakable face and sinister presence to more than 100 films, including “Blood Simple,'' “Blade Runner,'' “Straight Time'' and “The Jerk.'' His signature role was as an unscrupulous Texas private investigator in Joel and Ethan Coen's first film, Blood Simple, which he wrote for Walsh. Although many of his characters were from the South, Walsh grew up in Vermont, near the U.S.-Canada border. He began appearing in films in his late 30s and was still working well into his 80s.

Angela Chao, a shipping industry CEO and sister-in-law of Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell, died in Texas last month after she drunkenly drove her car into a pond. FBI: 'Little Rascals' trio of 11, 12 and 16-year-olds arrested in Houston bank robbery
HOUSTON (AP) – Three boys, ages 11, 12 and 16, known as the “Little Rascals” have been arrested for robbing a Houston bank. Harris County Sheriff Ed Gonzalez announced Wednesday that the three men are being held on charges of intimidation and robbery. The FBI Houston office announced that he is accused of robbing a Wells Fargo bank in the Greenspoint area of north Houston on March 14th. Gonzalez and the FBI said they would not release additional information because the three were juveniles. Houston's ABC 13 reported that the boys handed the teller a threatening note and fled on foot with an undisclosed amount of cash. The station also reported that the parents of the two boys were identified after their photos were released.

Authorities said on the X social media platform that the warrant was for domestic violence by strangulation, a third-degree felony punishable by up to five years in prison. The sheriff's office said Sutton may be driving a Jeep Grand Wagoneer with Florida license plates. No other information was immediately provided. Idaho State Police search for escaped inmate and accomplice after ambush at Boise hospital
Police say white supremacist Idaho prison gang members and their accomplices remain at large after brazenly raiding an inmate overnight to free an inmate being transferred from a Boise hospital. . Three correctional officers were shot and injured in an incident at the St. Alphonsus Regional Medical Center ambulance bay early Wednesday morning. Authorities said two officers were shot and killed by an accomplice and one was shot and killed by responding police. Police across the region were searching for an unidentified suspected gunman and an escaped inmate who authorities described as white supremacist gang member Skyler Meade. Police identified the shooting suspect as Nicholas Amphenol.
A New York man's pet alligator has been confiscated for the first time in 30 years.Now he wants Albert back.
HAMBURG, N.Y. (AP) – The owner of a 34-year-old alligator seized by conservation officers near Buffalo is fighting to have it returned. Tony Cavallaro said the reptile, whom he named Albert, was a gentle giant who he treated like family and lived in a custom addition to his home. Officers sedated and captured the alligator, which is 11 feet long and weighs more than 750 pounds, a week ago. State environmental officials said Cavallaro's license to keep Albert expired in 2021 and that it was illegal to allow children or other people to pet him. Cavallaro said he has received a lot of support for the alligator's restoration.
Battleship on the Delaware River: USS New Jersey heading to Philadelphia for repairs
CAMDEN, N.J. (AP) — Philadelphia-area residents are about to see an unusual sight: a battleship sailing down the Delaware River. The USS New Jersey is scheduled to move from its dock in Camden, New Jersey, on Thursday and head to the Philadelphia Navy Yard for extensive maintenance work. The decommissioned battleship will first head to Paulsboro Marine Terminal, where she will be balanced in preparation for dry dock, and six days later she will head to the Navy Yard.
