What's trending in threads? The platform's new “Trending Now” feature makes it easy to find out. Mirroring capabilities similar to its main competitor X (formerly Twitter) make it easy for Threads to see what's being discussed in the community.
This functionality has not been present in Threads until now, but the platform is determined to catch up. “Today we're broadly rolling out the Trending Now feature to people in the U.S., an easy way to see what others are talking about in threads,” said Adam Mosseri, head of Instagram. We are excited to be able to offer this.”
In my testing, the easiest way to access the “Trending Now” stream is to go to the search section. You will see the topics listed below the search bar. You can also find it under the “For You” tab on the thread's home screen. However, you'll have to scroll through your feed to find it, and you might miss it if you're not looking for it.
Threads was a huge success when it first launched last summer, but its early momentum has waned. Whether Threads will trend again is unlikely on Trending Now, but it's a positive step forward.
