A new feature regarding threads has been introduced. This is the much-anticipated 'Trending Now' topic that delves into the top conversations and talks on social media platforms.
Meta's Threads previously claimed that this feature is coming soon, giving users the opportunity to view trending content on the platform, and that the company will also add it to their “For You” feed.
In less than a year since Threads launched, we've added new intuitive features that build the platform alongside the top social media experiences, and new experiences are arriving regularly.
Threads that trended in US searches
Instagram CEO Adam Mosseri posted on his Threads account today, sharing a new feature for the text-based social media platform that brings “Trendy Now” topics.
The feature is currently only widely accessible to users in the United States, and while not all users in the region have seen it yet, it was said to be coming in the future.
Trending Now is a feature that brings you the latest talk from the Threads community around the world and ranks the most talked about and attention-grabbing topics online.
This new Threads feature allows people to track trending topics on social media platforms and stay up to date with conversations happening online.

Where can I find out what's trending now and what to expect?
“Trending Now” is available in the “Search” tab below the search bar you type in. Here they are laid out by the platform and ranked from 1 to 5 above the “Follow Suggestions” part.
Meta has also integrated this feature directly into the For You feed. This is similar to the recommended thread content that people find on Facebook and Instagram and is laid out in a carousel display.
Meta threads and latest features
Meta and its executives have been actively sharing developments on Threads since its release, with CEO Mark Zuckerberg and Mosseri using the text-based platform to share updates on the app.
Last month, Instagram's chief promised the arrival of a “Trending Now” section aimed at showing the platform's most timely and engaging topics based on users.
Recently, Meta upgraded the threading experience by adding searchable topic tags. It converts specific text into internal links and directs people to keywords and topics.
It has the same premise as a hashtag, but it lacks the famous octagon symbol “#” popularized by Twitter, even though it's used on Facebook and Instagram.
In the announcement, the Instagram chief shared the latest feature of Threads, which is currently only available in the United States. This is widely available to users and you can try it out, but I was told it would take some time as not everyone has seen this yet.
Trending Now is a great way to stay on top of topics from around the world and what's trending online. This is available for both the search feed and the For You feed.
