MARIONVILLE, Mo. (KY3) – Several complaints have been received about Cultivate Wildflowers, a Marionville company that specializes in flower preservation.
“I got interested when I saw local businesses working to preserve flowers,” says Hayley Shah.
She says she couldn't wait to use Cultivate Wildflower's flower preservation services.
“We felt like this was a big deal on both the West Coast and the East Coast, so we were really excited to see a vendor like this in Branson offering and showcasing this kind of talent,” Shah said.
But more than a year later and after spending more than $1,000, she says she's still empty-handed.
“I haven't even received any flowers yet. I would love to get them. At this point, I don't even know if they are my real flowers,” Shah said.
She says she's not the only one losing out.
“Some of the other women affected had grandparents and mothers who are no longer with us, and there were family heirlooms associated with this. Those items have been lost. Things could have been worse. I'm grateful that I could have been there,” Shah explained.
Feeling left with no choice due to the lack of products, services, and communications, she filed a complaint with the Missouri Attorney General and Better Business Bureau.
“When a consumer files a complaint, the BBB tries to broker a resolution. We want to go to business owners and hear their stories. We want to hear from them about what happened. “We want to know what's going on, and hopefully we can help both consumers and businesses come together to find a solution. We want those complaints to be resolved.” says BBB's Pamela Hernandez.
Because of these complaints, she says, the company now has an “F” rating.
“When our investigator interviewed the manager, she said she really didn't feel the need to respond to complaints, just like people leaving reviews,” Hernandez said.
Shah said, “For me, it's a stance of, oh yeah, I lost a lot of money, and it could be worse. I sincerely hope that this will stop.”
We reached out to the company several times for comment, but did not receive a response.
