The county animal shelter is trying to find homes for homeless pets by waiving fees for some pets and some adopters. Pets have more positive health effects on people than gold nuggets.
Siberian Huskies, German Shepherds, Chihuahuas, Russian Blues, Siamese cats and more: Everyone is Irish at the San Diego County Animal Shelter during the month of March.
More than 40% of dogs and cats in shelters are waiting more than 30 days to recover. Adopt or foster animals and help them change their luck a la Shamrock. Together, we can make a huge difference in the lives of these worthy pets.
A special adoption spreads the Irishman's good fortune throughout the month. Adoption fees are always waived if:
・Pets staying at a shelter for more than 30 days
・Pets over 8 years old
・Adoptee must be over 60 years old
Check out some of the pets available on the Animal Services website at https://www.sddac.com/content/sdc/das/adopt.html.
Walk-in hours are Tuesday through Sunday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Bonita's South Shelter, 5821 Sweetwater Road, and North Shelter, 2481 Palomar Airport Road in Carlsbad.
All adoption fees include spay or neuter, microchip, up-to-date vaccinations, and a one-year license for dogs within our service area.
Photo ID is required to apply. Recruitment will be on a first-come, first-served basis. If you're not sure, consider adopting your pet to see if it's a good fit or just to give it a break from a shelter environment.
Pets benefit greatly from being placed in a home environment and learning how to be part of the family. Basic care supplies such as food, leashes, and bedding are all included as part of the program.
