MOUNT JACKSON — Triplet Technical College students are preparing to compete in the SkillsUSA Virginia Leadership Conference and State FCCLA Leadership and Recognition Conference competitions in Virginia Beach.
Triplett Technical College Principal Todd Lin expressed his excitement for the students and spoke highly of them.
“We are very proud of our students' accomplishments and can't wait to see them perform at the state competition,” Lin said. “These competitions allow students to showcase what they have learned at Triplet Tech. Their skills are a testament to the hard work and dedication of both students and staff. We believe that all students We are focused on making sure you have what you need to succeed and using the skills you learn at Triplett Tech to enter your chosen field immediately upon graduation.”
The students who ranked at the district level and will compete in the State SkillsUSA competition April 19-21 are: (In parentheses are their alma maters: Central High School, Mountain View High School, and Strasburg High School.)

- Cody Raines (CHS), Masonry Competition, 2nd Place
- Gavin Wolfe (MVHS), Bricklayer Competition 1st Place
- Noah Spence (CHS), Auto Refinishing Competition, Winner
- Aidan Givens (SHS), carpentry competition, winner
- Jason Capps (SHS), 2nd place carpentry competition
- Christian Dellinger (MVHS), Electrical Competition, 1st Place
- Trey Heishman (MVHS) Diesel Equipment Technology Competition Winner
- Hannah Waters (SHS) Diesel Equipment Technology Competition 2nd place
- Dale Foltz (CHS) Diesel Equipment Technology Competition 3rd place
- Lucas Clayton (CHS), Motorcycle Service Technology Competition, 1st Place
- Savannah Chrisman (CHS), 1st place in beauty contest
- The team of Criselia Guzman (CHS), Melanie Hernandez-Araujo (CHS), and Vivian Pope (SHS) won 1st place in Total Fantasy Look (Cosemtology)
Additionally, Tucker Merkley (CHS) and Armando Holloway-Vicente (MVHS) placed second and third, respectively, in the District Motor Vehicle Service Skills Competition. Chriselia Guzman (CHS) won 5th place in the beauty contest.
The following students will compete in the FCCLA state competition, which will be held April 12-14.

Culinary Arts students will compete in the “Food Innovations” competition, and Early Childhood Education students will compete in the “Focus on Children” competition. This will be the first time a Triplet Technical College student will compete in her state FCCLA competition.
