As spring approaches and the rainy season arrives, pet parents in the eastern metropolitan area will soon have to deal with muddy dogs. (I'm never looking forward to it.)
Muttley & Me's new pet wash may be of help to many of these pet owners.
Jason Keck, owner of Swansea Pet Boutique, recently contacted me to let me know about a new pet wash made by All Paws Pet Wash.
“It's been well received,” Keck said. “It was busy even though it was cold.” (The pet wash is airtight and heated.)
The store has been open since December 22, and someone was coming in every day until the cold snap hit. “It was a big hit.”
Keck describes the pet washer as a “well-designed machine.”
The pet washing unit is manufactured by All Paws Pet Wash, a family-owned company based in Eau Claire, Wisconsin, and founded in 1964, according to the company's website. The company entered the self-service pet cleaning industry in 2009.
Pet Wash has multiple options for pet owners, including oatmeal and tear-free shampoos, conditioners, flea and tick repellents, deodorants, vacuum cleaners to remove excess moisture, dryers, and bathtub disinfectants. there is.
There is also a separate machine for purchasing pet treats.
All pet owners really need to bring is their dog and a towel, but they are welcome to bring shampoo and other toiletries.
People can wash their dogs in raised tubs or on the floor. This is useful for large pets, elderly pets, or uncooperative pets (like my Henry).
The unit is locked from the inside (because from experience, some pets are escape artists).
The temperature of the pet washing area can also be adjusted. On sunny days, the space can get quite warm. Pet owners can open the side sliding door to let in cool air. The lower half is fenced off to prevent pets from getting outside.
Pet wash is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Pet wash costs $15 for 20 minutes. A membership option is also available for $20 per month for four washes.
“Happy coincidence”
Keck said the dog wash has brought new customers to Muttley & Me, which celebrated its fifth anniversary in mid-February.
When Peace by Piece moved from downtown Belleville to its current location on North Illinois Street in 2018, Jason and Christina Keck originally planned to lease the adjoining space.
The following year, the Kecks decided to take a look and open a pet boutique.
According to Keck, it worked.
In fact, Muttley & Me “was a happy accident for us,” he said.
Muttley & Me opened in mid-February 2019, but really came to life during the pandemic.
Keck said Muttley & Me was able to stay open even as businesses closed. The store was essential because it sold pet food.
He said he feels like Muttley & Me saved our building by staying open.
Inside view
To be honest, I had never been to a pet boutique before. (This is a comment from a woman who has a properly pampered puppy at home)
Both my dog and I missed out.
In addition to collars and leashes, beds, treats, toys and other supplies, Muttley & Me also has fun products for pet parents.
