CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. – Arts for Hearts is giving Clarksville residents the chance to paint their favorite pets in a special acrylic workshop designed for pet lovers with no art training We offer
Led by multidisciplinary artist Amy Sherren Williams, this workshop will provide you with everything you need to create your own masterpiece on a pre-sketched “paint-by-numbers” style canvas.
For $60, participants can take home a 12-inch x 12-inch portrait of their fur baby. The Arts for Hearts workshop is free to the public, but it is a fundraiser for the group. Money raised from this workshop will purchase supplies that will allow Arts for Hearts volunteers to continue offering free sessions to the public.
The painting session will take place from 4 to 6:30 p.m. Thursday, March 28, at Legends Smokehouse and Grill, 803 S. Riverside Drive. To reserve one of her 20 available seats, registrants must send an email to barbara with the subject line “Paint Your Pet” along with two clear photos of the pet they would like to paint. It should be sent to kane1948@gmail.com. The deadline for applications is March 14th, or once seats are filled. Participants must be 15 years of age or older.
Arts for Hearts is a program under the umbrella of the Clarksville Arts and Heritage Council. Its free workshops are designed to bring the healing power of art to the general public, with special consideration for those with financial, physical, emotional, and/or cognitive barriers. Masu. All materials and instructions are provided for each of her 1-3 hour sessions, and participants can take home their completed projects to wear, display, or gift to others.
Classes are held monthly at venues such as the Clarksville-Montgomery Public Library, the Wade Vaughn Nature Center at Rotary Park, Habitat for Humanity ReStore, and the Stephen A. Cohen Military Family Clinic.
