The Navy demoted former White House physician and current Republican Rep. Ronnie Jackson over allegations of inappropriate conduct, according to a new report.
Jackson, who describes himself on his website as a “retired U.S. Navy rear admiral with nearly 30 years of military service,” will be demoted in July 2022 in a previously unreported decision, The Washington Post reported. Ta.
He was demoted to the rank of retired Navy captain following a damning 2021 inspector general report that found him belittling, bullying and inappropriately engaging with staff.
The report alleges that he engaged in alcohol-related misconduct, misused Ambien for personal use, and made “sexual and derogatory comments” toward female subordinates.

Jackson's demotion was confirmed by current and former U.S. officials who spoke to The Washington Post on condition of anonymity.
The paper said that Kathryn L. Kuzminski, a military policy expert at the Center for a New American Security, calculated that this means Jackson would likely lose more than $15,000 a year in pension payments. .
Despite the demotion, Mr. Jackson continues to refer to himself as a major general on his website and in statements, which Mr. Kuzminsky said is inappropriate.
“Others may mistakenly refer to him as 'Admiral' forever, but he should not make that mistake himself,” she said.
Jackson served as the president's physician from 2013 to 2018 in the administrations of Barack Obama and Donald Trump.
He maintains a close relationship with former President Donald Trump, and in response to continued questions about his age and mental fitness to serve as president, he said Trump has “no cognitive or mental problems whatsoever.” He has loudly advocated this evaluation.
