BOSTON — Virginia Tech's Connor McClure placed third in the men's pole vault on Friday, the second day of the NCAA Division I Indoor Track and Field Championships.
McClure, who earned first-team All-American honors, had a vault height of 18 feet 2 1/2 inches.
The Virginia quartet of Wes Porter, Alex Sherman, Alex Reese, and Yassin Sadh placed third in the men's distance medley relay (9 minutes, 27.18 seconds). Virginia Tech was 10th (9:32.20).
Virginia Tech's Sara Killinen finished eighth in the weight throw Thursday. Killinen, who earned First Team All-America honors, posted a 70-7 3/4 record.
