here we go again? Tart, who came under fire for influencer trips he hosted in Dubai and Miami last year, recently sent influencers on yet another trip, this time to Bora Bora. Perhaps unsurprisingly, some people, known as tone-deaf, were not thrilled about this luxurious vacation. Some defended the practice and blamed the negative reaction on jealousy. Others (including Tarte's CEO and co-founder himself) have observed that critics don't seem to object to brands spending millions of dollars on Super Bowl ads. Based on some people's comments and posts, Super Bowl ads aren't necessarily about flaunting wealth in the same way as influencer trips, especially at a time when many people may be struggling financially. The answer may be no.
Frame to frame (almost): Gap has undergone a major brand reset under new CEO Richard Dixon, as well as recreating Jungle's viral music video “Back on 74” as part of its “Linen Move” campaign. While the reaction on social media and in-store seems to be mostly positive, some said there still seemed to be a disconnect between the way the brand was presented in the ad and the IRL vibe of the Gap store.
PCB welcomes you: New ad from Miami Beach government encourages people to: For the love of God, go somewhere else for spring break It is attracting attention online. The ad is framed as a parting message to past spring break unrest in the city, with not-so-funny curfews and fines for those who decided to fight for their right to party this year. is presented.
Logo Loco: You may remember Emily Zugey, a creator who called herself a graphic designer in 2021 and ironically became a hot topic when she redesigned a brand's logo. Well, she's back, and she has an intern, a puppy named Margot. Petco and Rover were among the brands that adopted Margot's new look and changed their TikTok profile pictures, and social media managers from other brands implored them to pay attention to her in the comments.
Other tote bags: Multiple people posted videos of shoppers falling in love with Trader Joe's new $2.99 mini tote bag, with some comparing it to Stanley's Tumbler story in the comments section. (This is reminiscent of the debate surrounding Emily Mariko's more expensive totes.) Perhaps the reason these small bags have become so popular is that they're perfect for small, furry friends. It may be due to the size discovered or the fact that the tote bag is being resold. It sells for up to $85 on eBay. Who says?
Rest in peace Delia*: Teens and teen-focused retailers may be all but gone, but if the music industry has something to say about it, it won't be forgotten.
