“Pet of the Week” is a regular column highlighting pets up for adoption at the Franklin County Animal Shelter.
little debbie and ginny
This week's two cats are a loving pair. Little Debbie and Ginny are both her 1-3 year old tortoiseshell tabbies who come from the same house and are so bonded to each other that they must go to the house together.
At the shelter, she is kept in a kennel in the adult cat room as she is fed a special C/D food for urinary care. They both eat special foods, and Little Debbie has had problems with urinary stones in the past. Although she currently has no urinary problems, she will need to be on this special diet for the rest of her life to prevent future crystals. Ginny is kept in the same kennel as Little Debbie, so she eats that food. Plus, she tastes great when she eats. This food will also help Ginny prevent future urinary problems, which she has no history of.
Although they are very shy, these girls are so sweet that many adult cats take a special interest in them, even those who are not necessarily sociable with cats. Although they are shy, they get along well with other cats and dogs, although Ginny does not particularly like chaotic environments with loud noises. These cute girls have been in shelters for a while, but they are often overlooked by potential adopters because they are in kennels rather than playing with other cats. Please come and visit us. Say hello to these lovely little ladies.
