BREVARD COUNTY • COCOA BEACH, Fla. – The Cocoa Beach Area Chamber of Commerce will welcome Dr. Mike Slotkin on March 7 to share economic forecasts, trends, data, statistics, and other valuable information related to the Space Coast. I plan to see it directly. Florida and the national economy.
The event will begin at 7 a.m. at the Holiday Inn Express & Space Coast Convention Center, 301 Tucker Lane in Cocoa.
Mr. Slotkin is a professor of economics in the Florida Institute of Technology's College of Business and holds a Ph.D. He received his PhD in economics from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 1995, and his scholarly work focuses on applying economics to pedagogical issues in the environment, regional economics and industry, and the delivery of business education. It encompasses applications.
Slotkin regularly teaches core and elective courses in economics in both undergraduate and graduate degree programs and is a six-time recipient of the College of Business Teacher of the Year award.
He has presented papers at international conferences in Europe and the United States, and is frequently cited in local newspapers.
For applied work, Slotkin consults with corporations, government agencies, NGOs, and litigators.
To date, he has co-authored more than 50 economic impact and technical reports, including collaborations with the Florida Space Coast Tourism Authority and NASA Kennedy Space Center.
He has appeared in numerous media outlets regarding Brevard County's economy and housing market and is a frequent speaker at industry/chamber/economic development forums.
