Mediator appointed to state supreme court group
Lawrence Gordon, president and owner of Phoenix Mediation in West Palm Beach, has been appointed to the Florida Supreme Court's Alternative Dispute Resolution Rules and Policy Committee. Gordon is a Supreme Court-certified circuit civil mediator and an approved arbitrator. The Committee provides recommendations to the Supreme Court relating to all aspects of ADR policy, regulations, legislation, model ADR practices, and mediator accreditation and renewal requirements.
Environmental group awards longtime volunteer
The Loxahatchee Group of the Florida Chapter of the Sierra Club recently announced that it has awarded the nonprofit's 2024 Pine Tree Award to a longtime volunteer. glenn loafer of Lake Worth Beach. This special award recognizes an outstanding group leader who has provided exceptional benefit to their local Sierra Club in one of the following areas: stewardship, volunteer inspiration and encouragement, fundraising, and/or membership. Laufer has been a member of the Sierra Club's Loxahatchee group since 2003 and has been a volunteer for more than 20 years.

County Commissioners Elected to SFRTA Board of Directors
The South Florida Regional Transportation Authority (SFRTA) Board of Directors unanimously elected Broward County Commissioner Tim Ryan Serves as Chairman of the Board and Palm Beach County Commissioner Marcy Woodward He will serve as vice chair. A member of the SFRTA Board of Directors since 2015, Ryan has served as a county commissioner since 2012 and as Broward County Mayor from 2014-2015. Commissioner Marcy Woodward is a 20-year resident of Boca Raton and was elected as Palm Beach County District 4 Commissioner in November 2022.
SVN Commercial Partners opens new WPB office
SVN Commercial Partners recently announced the opening of its sixth Florida office in West Palm Beach. Spero Adamis, managing director and 30-year commercial real estate veteran. Adamis specializes in retail and restaurant brokerage, and in York he represented numerous national tenants, including restaurants, completing his 21 transactions in four states. West Palm Beach-based United Franchise Group recently announced: Chad Palmer Promoted to Chief Marketing Officer. Mr. Palmer previously held the roles of both the company's Vice President of Franchise Development and Vice President of Digital Marketing. UFG has a group of successful B2B franchise systems.
