Thatcher and Bear were rescued by Street Cat Angels and are currently being adopted out at Ahimsa Haven in Winchendon. (Courtesy of Ahimsa Heaven)
In recent weeks, Pet Talk has focused on feral cats and issues surrounding community responsibility, rules and regulations, and the role of volunteers to help. Thatcher and the Bear were captured last August by Street Cat Angels, a nonprofit organization that works with animal control and local shelters.
The two sisters suffered from injuries and other health issues, but survived after being taken to Wachusett Animal Hospital's emergency room. “I prayed for a great outcome because they didn't have a great start in life,” wrote SCA's Judy McDonald Reardon.
Thatcher and Bear each lost just three pounds and are now staying at Ahimsa Haven Animal Shelter, looking for a furry home. Their adoption fees are sponsored. When you adopt a pet from a shelter, you're getting a healthy pet. Visit ahimsahaven.org to fill out an application and visit “Ahimsa Haven” on Facebook to see more amazing pets.
