WACO, Texas — The Baylor Bears are back home in a ranked matchup against Kansas. It was a close game in both the first and second halves, but Baylor was able to pull away and win 82-74.
“As far as the second half, I think we found things, like playing fast and playing in transition. That was kind of the focus and … it's tough going downhill so let's run,” Ray J. Dennis said. Told.
Dennis had a double-double with 17 points and 10 assists.
Achieving a ranked championship with the end of the regular season fast approaching will be a big boost heading into the postseason.
“You want to play your best basketball at the end of the year, and we like the trend right now,” head coach Scott Drew said.
“We've got to get Langston back and add him to the mix. If we can do that, I think we'll be in a position to do our best heading into the tournament,” Drew said.
“It's a blessing to be able to grow just by watching them, but it's a great game just to play, you know, things like that. I think they're great competitors as well,” Jaden Nunn said. Ta.
Baylor won this game, marking a brief turnaround as it begins next week at home against Texas in the Longhorns' final game as members of the Big 12 against the Bears.
“This means a lot to our fans and it means a lot to Baylor University,” Drew said.
“It means a lot to Baylor and our players. It's also Senior Night today and God gave us a big Monday. So we look forward to seeing Baylor, the new Foster Pavilion. “This will show people who have never seen it before,” he added.
Tipoff between Baylor and Texas is Monday, March 4th at 8 p.m.
