Hello animal lovers! What wonderful weather the last few days have been! It lifts the spirits of our volunteers and the fur babies we care for here at Have a Heart Pet Shelter. This week we feature a dog named Jimmy Creek. He was found near the Jimmies Creek tributary of Bull Shoals Lake, hence his name. He had no collar or chip and was covered in ticks, but otherwise appeared healthy. It has been posted on social media, but the owner has not come forward. Jimmy is a gorgeous dark silver color with white toes. He is very well behaved in the kennel and seems to love everyone.
Jimmy currently weighs 34 pounds and is estimated to be about 6 months old. He is very laid back for a young dog, walking around and saying “hello” before collapsing for a nap. Applications will be accepted, but Jimmy Creek will only be available after he is neutered.
Introducing this week's cat, baby!
This handsome big guy is a baby (we didn't name him, that's what he gave us, lol)! His date of birth is February 14, 2019, so he just turned 5 years old on Valentine's Day!
Baby's owners had to surrender him and his companion, Aspen, who had recently been adopted from a shelter, because they were struggling with the change in their living conditions and could no longer keep the baby. Until they contacted us, they were unable to find a nearby shelter that could help them.
At first, Baby was confused and a little grumpy about being in this new, busy environment. But after some time and decompression, he is fine. He still doesn't like the cattery to be too busy, so he joins the other adults on the “night shift.” (Crazy kittens are given a “day shift.”) Babies will do well in a home without many other pets. He is friendly, likes talking to humans, and enjoys being petted.
If you would like to meet Jimmy Creek, Baby, or any other foster family, please call the shelter at 870-449-7387 or stop by 657 Highway 202 West in Yellville during regular business hours, Tuesday through Saturday, 9 a.m. . ~ until 3pm We look forward to your visit!
