Ministry of Public Health [DOH] is reminding the public that the registration deadline for the PIVIO Lifestyle Medicine program is March 1st.
A government spokesperson said: “PIVIO, a holistic health improvement program, is an established lifestyle education initiative centered around approaches such as plant-based nutrition, physical activity, stress reduction, mindfulness training and positive psychology. ”.
“This program has a proven track record of guiding individuals toward positive health transformation, reducing drug dependence, weight loss, and increasing cholesterol and blood sugar levels.”
Health Minister Kim Wilson said: “The PIVIO program is not just about learning and supporting healthy lifestyles; it is about changing lives. This initiative aims to help individuals live their healthiest lives. “It improves the well-being of people battling chronic disease and helps reduce health insurance claims costs. This is part of our goal of having healthy people living in healthy communities.”
A government spokesperson said: “From 21 March, structured PIVIO classes will be conducted through remote sessions over nine weeks, offering a comprehensive and impactful journey towards improving health outcomes.” . Although classes are online, DOH is conducting several in-person activities throughout the program to encourage participants, and DOH staff will be on hand to answer any questions.
“The final PIVIO online live information session will be held on Thursday, February 29th at 11:45 a.m. on the Ministry of Health’s Facebook page.
