Get ready to wag your tail, purr, and get excited as the upcoming Fuber Friends Pet Expo offers a variety of activities and resources for pet lovers.
The Pet Expo, hosted by Mayor Michelle Gomez, Vice Mayor Maury Wright and Commissioner Elvin Villalobos, and to be held at Tamarack Park on Saturday, March 2 from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m., is a rain or shine event with no shade or shelter available. There are many tents set up as places. for the guests.
“Pets give us unconditional love and joy. We are so excited to host this wonderful event and see the community come together,” said Gomez. , added that Pet Expo aims to share information and resources with pet owners and help them find homes for dogs and cats from local shelters.
Mr. Gomez works with Broward County Animal Care, Chesed Foundation Dog & Cat Rescue, Dalmatian Rescue SoFL, Good Karma Pet Rescue, GTS Husky Rescue, I Heart Animal Rescue, Furever Saved, and Animal Aid.
“There will be a red carpet and dog parade, and puppies and their owners can take pictures in the kissing booth,” Gomez said, adding that the event will include dog training sessions, an off-leash area with a pet relief zone, and Pet CPR demonstration by the Red Cross.
Participants will receive a free rabies vaccine, microchip, and spay/neuter voucher from Broward County while supplies last.
DJ Danny and Oopsy the Clown will provide entertainment, and Sparky the fire dog from Tamarack Fire and Rescue and Bluey the Bloodhound K9 from the Broward Sheriff's Office will appear. Food trucks from Kona Ice, BurgerFi, and One With Everything will provide catering for this event.
Gomez said the Pet Expo brought together 16 local vendors offering local pet services, pet food and unique products. Among them are Moon Dog Bakery, Dog Training Elite Broward, Pompano Pet Lodge, Jaffee Pops, Scenthound Coral Springs, The Good Doggo & Co, Woofin Good Dog Accessories, and watercolor pet artist Marion Toms.
The city is accepting donations of canned pet food and other pet supplies at Tamarack Pantry events to help dog and cat owners in need. Gomez said the donation will also benefit rescues and shelters featured at the expo.
