Owen Washburn hit two home runs, Damian Bravo and T.J. They won three consecutive home series games.
Tech scored 3 runs in the 3rd inning, 4 runs in the 4th inning, and 7 runs in the 5th inning to erase a 2-0 deficit and take the game into a big swing. Bravo hit a home run over the middle hitter's eye, and from the third inning Kevin Buzzell and Washburn hit single home runs.
Pompey hit a two-run home run in the fourth inning and exploded in the fifth with a two-run double by Austin Green and a two-run home run by Washburn.
Washburn reached base in all five at-bats. He had five RBIs, and finished the rest with a bases-loaded walk in the fourth inning and a two-run home run in the sixth inning.
On Fridays at 6:30 p.m., Saturdays at 2 p.m., and Sundays at 2 p.m., the tech industry will host another non-conference series, hosted by Gardner Webb.
Here are three takeaways:
The bottom of the order bashes
Texas Tech had 13 hits in the final game of the series. Left fielder Damien Bravo, shortstop TJ Pompey and right fielder Gage Harrelson each had two hits and two RBIs. Bravo and Pompey both scored three goals, and Harrelson had two.

TJ Pompey continues to help himself
Pompey won the starting shortstop position in a crowded field with Will Burns, who was a part-time starter last year, and redshirt freshman Travis Sanders. The talent in that group allowed Tech to move Tracer Lopez, who started primarily at shortstop last season, to second base.
Pompey gave Tech coach Tim Tadlock no reason to reconsider. In this weekend's three-game series, Pompey had 10 hits in 15 at-bats, two home runs, nine RBIs, and nine runs scored. The Coppell University freshman raised his batting average to .441.
Jack Washburn is heating up early in the season.
Texas Tech starting pitcher Jack Washburn had a career-high eight strikeouts in 4 1/3 innings, surpassing the seven he had at Mississippi State against Louisiana-Monroe in 2022.
Washburn, making his second consecutive start, had four strikeouts in the first two innings. He did it Sunday against Oregon, his first game in nearly 20 months after returning from a stress fracture in his shoulder blade.
Texas Southern gave Washburn four runs on six hits, including back-to-back wind-assisted home runs by Chase Kromer and Jason Lazo in the third inning.
