F1 Test 2024 Live Updates (Local Time):
Session time (local time): 1000-1400 [morning session]1500-1900 [afternoon session]
1128: Yes, get used to working long hours. Once the session resumes, it will run continuously without a break until 19:00 local time.
1116: The session is targeted to resume at 1145 local time.
1100: Frantic work is being done to weld the drain cover back into place, which still raises red flags.
1032: In other words, it was Perez's Red Bull RB20 that had its drain cover removed at Turn 11.
1028: Never again! The drain cover that came off yesterday morning destroyed the floor of his Ferrari SF-24 and caused an early end to the session, has come off again. There are red flags.
1022: Lando Norris was within a tenth of Sainz in C3, but the top time would come later. Just as Sainz used a fresh push lap to open up a nine-tenths lead over his former McLaren teammate.
1013: Carlos Sainz has once again bolted on C4 rubber on his Ferrari, with RB Daniel Ricciardo also running on the compound and the rest of the runners wearing C3 in the early stages. Sainz's time of 1:32.017 is quite fast to beat.
1007: Valtteri Bottas appears anxiously watching from the back of the garage, sitting in what amounts to F1's prank corner as his team prepares Sauber for the track.
1002: A busy track that Perez heads straight from the start. Lance Stroll has a huge aero rake on the side of his Aston Martin.
1000: Green light, let's go!
0955: With Verstappen back in the RB20 this afternoon, it'll be interesting to see who comes out on top…OK, it'll be interesting to see how big his advantage actually is.
0943: It was another great day at the Sakhir circuit, with 19 of this year's 20 drivers taking part, with only Logan Sargent missing Thursday's solo day.
