Instagram, a meta-owned platform, has several features and options for content digital content creators. If you've noticed unusually long photos or posts in your Instagram feed lately, you should know that they're not new features or updates. These unique posts with strange long photos are the result of a technical glitch on the social media platform.
Instagram users, including several brands like Swiggy Instamart, Vadilal, and Fevikwik India, turned this glitch into a new content marketing trend called the 'giraffe trend' due to their long posts related to giraffe necks.
This flaw allows regular users and verified users to post very long vertical photos to Instagram. As a result, other users have to endlessly scroll through their feed to see the big picture.
Instagram generally doesn't allow you to post long photos that won't fit on your phone's screen. This application will crop all vertical photos to a 4:5 aspect ratio, except for Instagram Reels, which will fit on your phone's screen. On the other hand, the flaw allows users to post long images without resizing them.
Here's how brands took advantage of this glitch to create interesting posts.
