Partnering with Hello Woodlands Operation Pet Alive (OPA) will feature a “Pet of the Month” featuring a local dog or cat available for foster care and/or adoption in Montgomery County, Texas. Operation Pets Alive is a nonprofit organization that strives to make Montgomery County a no-kill community through innovative programs that increase community awareness, reduce the number of dogs and cats entering shelters, and increase the number of dogs and cats entering shelters. This is a volunteer organization. Keep our shelter alive.

Jolene's story
Jolene is a sweet and curious 55-pound Doberman Pinscher mix. This young woman found herself in a shelter in May 2023, and she was lucky enough to be drawn into Operation Her Pet Her Alive's adoption program in July.
Since then, her foster parents have realized that Jolene embodies everything they could think of about the average Dobby. She is energetic, eager to please, always curious, and loves new adventures. Jolene loves playing with toys and her favorite is her yellow Squeaker pig, who can often be seen relaxing on the couch with her after a long playdate. Jolene is very friendly with dogs of all sizes and she loves meeting new friends. She is lucky enough to occasionally attend doggy daycare at her foster parent's work.
Jolene loves cats and does well around them, but she is highly predatory and likes to chase them when they try to escape. She is currently working on impulse control and obedience training and needs an experienced and patient adopter. Although she can be stubbornly independent at times, she is always attuned to human desires. Jolene is potty trained, crate trained, fully vetted, and great with her children, making her the perfect addition to an active family.
