Lady Jets defeat Albany Tech in GCAA

USA – The South Georgia Tech Lady Jets made 71 free throws in a 75-67 victory over the Albany Tech Lady Titans. Of his 142 total points, 50 came from the free throw line.
The Lady Jets are currently 10-4 in the GCAA and tied for second place with Central Georgia Tech. East Georgia State remains in first place with an undefeated conference record of 13-0. Albany Tech fell to fourth place with a 5-8 record, followed by Andrews (4-9), Georgia Highlands (3-9) and Southern Crescent Tech (0-11).
South Georgia Tech took the lead in this game, but Albany Tech kept the game close in the first quarter as the Lady Jets only led 14-12 after the first 10 minutes. South Georgia Tech was able to extend its lead to eight points at 30-22 by halftime.
Both teams scored more in the second half with 35 free throw opportunities. Only 16 free throws were made in the first half. On the night, the Lady Jets were 30-of-40 from the line and Albany Tech was 20-of-31.
Sophomore Maeva Fozza was the Lady Jets' leading scorer with 17 points. Seven of her total points came from the foul line. She also matched her scoring tally with 17 points, had a double-double on the night, and was the leading rebounder.
Freshman forward Mio Sakano followed with 14 points, and Greta Carollo finished in double figures with 13 points. Enola Papan scored nine points, Isabel Bueno seven, Bela Gunaedin six, Maria Favero five, and Destiny Bishop four.
The Lady Jets will play again on Wednesday, February 21stcent They will host Georgia Highlands at the Hangar at 5:30 p.m., then the Jets and Lady Jets will host Southern Crescent Technical College in a doubleheader on Saturday, Feb. 24 at 1 p.m. and 3 p.m.
