The Phenom Winter Nationals brought in a lot of new names and young talent that we will be eager to watch grow and develop over the next few years. Most of these players have graduated or are still in middle school, but there's no denying that they have the talent to start tracking now.
A player we were eager to see again was 2028 6'6 Florrie Kuminga. We introduced this player as a player to watch in 2023, and he continues to improve. Returning to the summer 2023 finale, we said,
“Flory Kuminga 2028: I had a chance to watch Kuminga for the first time and there were flashes that I couldn’t help but like about this young, promising player. He could be someone to watch. The younger brother of Jonathan Kuminga, Frawley is a 6-foot-4 prospect with a good feel for the game for his age. He looked comfortable upon release. , moves well, has good hands, is active on the boards, finds ways to create for himself, and has a big, strong physique to go with it.''His background and what we saw early on. Considering the flash, Kuminga should be on your radar right away. ”

Fast forward to the Phenom Winter Nationals and he looks bigger, stronger and more fluid, but we've still only scratched the surface of what he could end up being. Kuminga brings a sturdy 6'6 frame to the court and is physically mature for his age. He uses that to his advantage, fighting his way through defenders and sometimes finishing strong. But he's also shown he has the feel to shoot from the perimeter. Whether it's finishing above the rim, getting out in transition, knocking down shots, or otherwise dominating opponents, Kuminga brings a lot to the table. And again, I think he's just scratching the surface of what he can be, especially when everything goes well and he realizes his potential…but a young prospect It just takes time.
I said it in 2023 and I'll say it again. Kuminga is a name that still comes to mind for me. Don't wait.
