BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) – Today's forecast: After a chilly start this morning, we'll begin to warm up in the afternoon, with above-normal temperatures continuing for an extended period of time. Today will continue to be a sunny day with high temperatures in the low to mid 70s.
Tuesday morning fog
The only concern for the next few days is the possibility of morning fog on Wednesday. Model guidance suggests widespread fog is possible overnight into early Wednesday morning, so remember to reduce speed and use low-beam headlights in foggy areas.
rest of this week
The overall mild pattern is expected to continue throughout the week, although a cold front is expected to move through late Thursday and early Friday. The front cannot rule out the possibility of showers, but the chance of rain is expected to be less than 20%. The front is not very punchy and is expected to bring only a slight drop in morning lows heading into the weekend. Otherwise, dry and pleasant weather is expected Saturday and Sunday.
Further prospects
Temperatures are likely to trend higher by early next week, reaching the low 80s. Another cold front could impact the region by midweek, bringing a slight chance of rain showers. Again, cooling behind this front appears to be limited.
