From January 2022, the Treasury Department has created the Financial Innovators Award, known as the Financial Services and Innovation Award. This award was created to recognize people across the University who have made significant and lasting contributions to the University through bold, innovative and creative approaches to common problems that occur every day at the University. it was done.
This award recognizes U of A faculty, non-faculty, academic, administrative, or skilled craft/service/maintenance employees who propose novel ideas that streamline processes, reduce costs, and/or increase productivity. It is aimed at members. Each quarter, one employee is selected to receive the award, and at the end of the calendar year, the annual award winner is selected from among the four quarterly award recipients.
We are pleased to announce the 2023 annual award winners:
Melissa Erwin, GSIE Deputy Director of Finance
Erwin received the 2023 Q1 FASI Award. She was nominated for quarterly recognition by several of her colleagues in the Graduate School and International Admissions Department, all of whom praised her solution-oriented approach, positive attitude, relationship building, and knowledge of business practices, laws, and codes. I rated it.
Erwin's colleagues say she was the glue that held their unique unit together, and her work during the Workday implementation was critical in helping develop processes to support graduate students. She is well known for her influence in one of the most diverse units on campus.
Irwin’s tenacity, innovative thinking and problem-solving, and collaboration with stakeholders across campus on major projects in recent years make her highly deserving of the 2023 Financial Services and Innovation Award. Let's celebrate Erwin together!
If you know of an employee who deserves recognition in the next quarterly FASI Awards, please let us know. FASI candidates should email Ann Gearity (agearity@uark.edu) or Susan Slinkard (svslink@uark.edu).
