Ukraine's Ministry of Defense announced the creation of a new defense technology community in order to gain a “10:1 technological advantage over the enemy.”

Participants in the Onslaught of Machines hackathon, a recent coding competition that brings together technical experts to create solutions for unmanned systems, automatically become members of the community, the report said.
The hackathon was announced in January and received more than 2,000 applications, and the ministry selected 450 developers and engineers to participate.
According to a recent press release, 12 winners will be selected based on the following criteria and each will receive a $10,000 cash prize:
- Create algorithms to accurately recognize, capture, and further destroy targets
- Development of advanced navigation system
- Building a stable and safe communication system
- Development of solutions for high-speed (real-time) transmission of intelligence data
- Development of unmanned system cooperation algorithm
- Building a network solution that integrates different types of unmanned systems
Since the beginning of Russia's full-scale aggression, Ukraine has devoted significant resources to technological innovation to compensate for the challenges posed by Russia's manpower and resources.
This has led to a range of new defense technology products, some of which are already being deployed on the front lines.
Similar initiatives in Kyiv included the creation of Brave1, a defense technology cluster aimed at consolidating support for domestic defense technology projects.
