Explaining what the image shows, NASA says, “A nebula with stars. The center of the image, from the top left to the bottom right, is brightly lit by light from places where new stars are forming, and some A layer of colored gas and dust extends across the rest of the image. The nebula is speckled with foreground stars with large diffraction spikes.”
