INDIANAPOLIS — This Valentine's Day could be the best day yet for people in Indianapolis looking to adopt a four-legged friend.
The Indianapolis Animal Care Services Department is hosting a “Love is Blind” adoption promotion to increase adoptions.
“We were looking for new and creative ways to really showcase the many wonderful dogs we have here for adoption,” explained Interim Deputy Director Kelly Diamond.
“Anyone interested in participating can visit our social media pages and find a link to a special application for the Love is Blind promotion. Fill it out and join us on Blind Day. Choose the date and time you want, and in our adoptions, our matchmakers will find you two or three dogs that we think will be a perfect match for them.”
This form offers people the opportunity to find the perfect dog based on their preferred lifestyle.
“Their lifestyle is the energy level in their home,” Diamond asked.
“What do they want in a dog? Do they want something like a couch potato, or do they want something like a very energetic dog? Also, size, gender, etc. , share information that will help you find your perfect match.”
The promotion was only meant to last a few days, but the response was so great that IACS chose to continue it through the weekend.
“We're getting a lot of applications,” Diamond said.
“We're really excited to see how successful this has been and we're having a little fun with it.”
