For those who use voice-assisted technology, a new app is trying to make it easier.
Whispp has built real-time AI-powered voice assistance technology into mobile phones.
Why is this important?
This can help improve communication for people with voice disorders such as severe stuttering or vocal cord paralysis.
“People with ALS and Parkinson’s disease can benefit from Whispp,” said Joris Castermans, founder and CEO of Whispp.
All the user has to do is whisper into the app. Why is this useful?
“I tend to stutter,” Castermans explained. “People who stutter severely become really fluent when they whisper.”
The app also allows you to use just a few minutes of audio recording as a sample and then make it sound like your own voice.

Ed van den Brink suffers from acute leukemia that has damaged his facial nerves and can cause pain when he speaks at full volume.
“I have always considered my voice and my contact with people to be one of my important characteristics in my work,” Van den Brink said.
But whispering won't hurt, he explained.
“Suddenly your voice sounds the same as before, which means it's so clean and has so much impact,” he said.
“I’m really amazed that I was able to recreate my original voice,” he said.
The technology uses audio-to-audio-based artificial intelligence that runs on the cloud. The company was founded five years before him and built its own AI.
Whispp recently debuted its AI-powered calling feature at the Consumer Electronics Show in January.
Whispp is now available to anyone with an iPhone or Android. A free trial is available when you download the app.
Subscriptions start at $19.99.
