JACKSON, MI — The Jackson County Animal Shelter, located at 3770 Spring Arbor Road, has many pets available for adoption.
Here we will introduce two of them.
Timber is a 6 month old puppy. This handsome guy is an American Staffordshire mix that is mostly white with dark gray spots.
Timber has a sad story. He was left behind at the shelter for a while and went into a practice enclosure in front of the shelter. Unfortunately, no one knew about it because it was snowing that morning and he was curled up cold under a blanket of snow.
He is timid and needs a nice home with people he can trust.
Oreo is a 2-year-old female tabby cat who was surrendered to her owner due to a move. Oreos are friendly, gentle, and love to be petted.
She loves treats and gets along well with other cats in the care. One of her favorite pastimes is curling up in her cat bed and taking a nap.
An online application is required to adopt a dog. Meeting the dog is also a must. You can use a cat room walkthrough to test your reactions. Dog adoption fees are $150 for medium and large dogs and $250 for puppies and small dogs, and include vaccinations, microchip and neutering.
Cat adoption fees are $60 for one cat or $80 for two cats and include applicable exams, vaccinations, and spay/neuter.
While it's always best to visit a shelter, other adoption resources include applying online at https://www.co.jackson.mi.us/2302/Our-Adoptable-Animals, 517-780- 4750 or email to animalshelter@mijackson.org. .
