GRAND RAPIDS, MI (WOOD) – This week's featured adoptable dogs from the Kent County Animal Shelter are a large man and a small woman who hope to find their forever homes.
tank He is a one and a half year old American bulldog mix. He is very calm, likes to spend time at the front desk of the shelter, goes on field trips, and enjoys cuddling with people.
In the News 8 studio on Friday, Tank showed he knows how to take command. Angela Hollinshead, director of the shelter, said he is intelligent and has a good appetite, so he should be amenable to training. Tank weighs about 70 pounds, and he would do well in an active household ready for a larger dog.
He has been staying at the shelter since July, spending time with his foster family. Although he has had no problems with children, he “can be a little grumpy” with other dogs, Hollinshead said.
“Sometimes he doesn't realize how big he is,” Hollinshead said. “It may be a little too big, especially for smaller older dogs.”
or you can choose Croissant, a 2 year old American Staffordshire Terrier. Her shelter says she is “ready to find a pampering new home.” She loves cuddling in bed or lying in bed and playing with chew toys.
“Croissant is so happy to see everyone and runs up on her butt to greet everyone she can,” the shelter wrote.
She came to the shelter with dry skin, but after veterinary treatment, her condition improved considerably.
