Are you in the market for a new basketball? Well, you better start saving up.
On WGN Morning News' Thursday Trends with Marcus, Marcus Leshock talked about the future of basketball that Wilson will announce on February 16th. The ball, called Gen1, is an airless, 3D-printed ball that never flattens.
However, your wallet will. The new ball costs $2,500. So don't let this bounce over your neighbor's fence.
Another company looking to gain more market share is Coca-Cola, which announced the launch of a new flavor of Coca-Cola Spice starting February 19th. Snoop Dogg and Master P also have breakfast cereal brands. And they're suing Walmart and Post Foods over it.
Meanwhile, Hall of Fame quarterback Dan Marino said he didn't expect the Jim Carrey-starring comedy “Ace Ventura: Pet Detective” to make as much money as it did. That means Marino had money left over for a high-profile cameo in the movie, at least according to what he told ESPN's Pat McAfee on the McAfee Show this week.
Marcus also said Disney has announced upcoming films, including a surprise sequel, “Moana 2.” Check out his first look teaser trailer from his YouTube page at Disney.
And in even cooler news, the piano prodigy from Rockford, Illinois, who was featured on WGN when she was 6 years old, is writing a song for Moana 2.
Meanwhile, the Super Bowl always attracts a ton of prop bets, and this Sunday's big game will be no exception. Marcus runs some of them, as he does every year. Yes, Taylor Swift is involved in a lot of things.
In other celebrity news, Ryan Gosling told Variety that he always dreamed of reaching the top of Warner Bros.' iconic water tower because he watched “Animaniacs” as a child.
Now, North, the artist formerly known as Kanye West's daughter, has released a new music video. Judge for yourself.
