heart pet shelter
dog of the week
Introducing Axel, a 7-month-old blonde cow mix. Axel currently weighs a little over 40 pounds, but since he's still a puppy, he's still growing. Although Axel is potty trained, he still has accidents if not removed from the potty for long periods of time.
Axel was brought to the shelter on January 16, 2024, along with his younger brother and mother. This handsome boy is a very well behaved puppy. He has his moments of naughty play.
Axel walks well on a leash, but suddenly becomes more energetic when he goes to the bathroom.
Although still timid when meeting new dogs, they are very eager to make new friends with the proper introduction. Like any dog that comes from a shelter, it may take some time to get used to a new location.
cat of the week
This week's featured cat is a cute boy named Tux. He looks good in a black and white tuxedo and his date of birth is July 1, 2021.
Tux came to the shelter when his human mother had to go into hospice and was no longer able to care for him.
She was devastated but wanted to make sure he received adequate care. After being adopted into a shelter and hiding for a while to adjust, Tux became a gentle and sometimes vocal man.
He is a snuggler and loves snuggling in your lap. Since he has lived with his mother until now, he has never been outside.
If you would like to meet Tux, Axel, or any other foster family, please call the shelter at 870-449-7387 or stop by 657 Highway 202 West in Yellville during regular business hours, 9 a.m. Tuesday through Saturday . We look forward to seeing you again at 3pm!
