NORTHPORT, N.Y. — Four-month-old close-knit siblings Cool Ranch and Marco have been named Kitten of the Week by the Northport Cat Rescue Society. Both were born in foster care.
“When Cool Ranch and Marco's mother was abandoned in an apartment, a kind woman rescued her and later discovered she was pregnant,” rescue volunteer Laura Wilde said. . “Cool Ranch and Marco are very lucky kittens because they have known nothing but love and safety since they were born in her apartment.”

Wilde said they were raised with dogs and have had no problems keeping them. They also get along well with other cats.
“There's actually not much I don't like about Marco and Cool Ranch,” Wilde said. “They are sweet and very affectionate.”
Wilde said Cool Ranch appears to be taking care of Marco. Cool Ranch is also one of the most talkative kittens some of the volunteers have ever met, she added.
“When he chirps, it actually sounds like words are being pronounced, and he's saying to the world, 'Hey, come see me and my brother, we need a home!' ” said Wilde.
According to Wilde, Marco is sweet and kind, a little timid, but also very sweet and playful.
“These two are a dream come true. If you're looking for two kittens, these are your kittens.”
Right now, they're at Petco Commack.
“When you visit them, Cool Ranch will always talk to you and stick their little legs out of their habitat to get your attention. They're really perfect,” Wilde said.
They are neutered, up to all vaccinations, potty trained, microchipped, and FELV/FIV negative.
