DES MOINES, Iowa — Buckingham Palace announced Monday that King Charles III has been diagnosed with cancer. After recent surgery for enlarged prostate, doctors noticed another concern. The Palace did not say what type of cancer she was diagnosed with or at what stage it was found.
According to the National Center for Health Statistics, there will be 1,958,310 new cancer cases in the United States in 2023. Iowa experts say there are big steps individuals can take to lower their risk of cancerous disease.

While all of this may seem overwhelming about the “right” way to live, Andrew Nisch, M.D., medical director of Stoddard Cancer Center, explains that it's actually the small lifestyle changes that lead to big impacts. I say it is.

Dr. Nish also said that loneliness is also a big factor and that positive social interactions are just as important as typical health guidelines.
