It's no different today again as the hyperviral TikTok couple Pookie and Jett are always trending on the internet. This husband-and-wife duo channel much of Barbie and Ken's energy, and while Campbell, affectionately called “Pookie” by her husband, is “everything,” Jett is “just” It's a jet.
Just like a normal course of online fame begins, followed by an inevitable fall, the Paquette family is witnessing a similar situation.
About Pookie and Jet
The Georgia-based Pucketts climbed the ladder of online fame after Campbell started posting TikTok videos via her account @campbellhuntpuckett. The Mrs. has been working on keeping up with the trend of curating regular posts.
Both of them are often seen flaunting their outfits of the day there. Jett Paquette also always makes sure to give heartfelt comments that give her wife confidence. And this same attitude of his has helped him earn a place in people's hearts.
What TikTok users initially thought was an awkward second-hand embarrassment was later accepted as a benign, if somewhat unpleasant, gesture. Eventually, not only did the “Pookie Couple” video go viral with millions of views, but people even started making parody videos of the pair.

Things then escalated when even Southwest Airlines adopted Jet's meme-worthy terminology, posting a video that referenced one of its planes: “Pookie is totally on fire today.” did.
So far so good, but worse was yet to come. Internet-level popularity has become almost synonymous with people (basically strangers) looking you up on the Internet and critically analyzing your entire life. Campbell Puckett and her husband ultimately met the same fate when light shone on their old digital footprints.
What is the Pookie couple controversy?
As other TikTokers began digging into their pasts, some derogatory content centered around the couple came to the forefront. A Reddit user posted a photo of a woman who appears to be Campbell in front of a Confederate flag. The photo now appears to have been removed from Pookie's Facebook account.
Yet another photo on Pinterest showed her wearing a vintage-style gown with a large skirt. Many people think of this as an “Old South” plantation themed ball costume. The post was published by Campbell's former University of Mississippi sorority member Phi Mu.
After facing intense backlash, Campbell addressed the issue in an Instagram Story post. She apologized for these other photos that resurfaced online. Taking full responsibility for her, she wrote: “I was 20 years old when these photos were taken. I didn't fully understand the impact of my actions, as I do now 12 years later.”
In addition, Campbell also noted how their entire lives, in which they engaged in public life, were subject to surveillance. “We live a very public life, so everything is on the internet, including my mistakes.”
Their story is another prime example proving that in today's world, our personal digital footprints openly define us, whether we like it or not.
