ROCHESTER, N.Y. — Caring for homeless pets — that's exactly what Vineyard Farm, also known as HUB, does.
Local organizations are providing mobility assistance stations and warming stations to the homeless. They also have kennels and warming stations to provide unconditional love and companionship to homeless pets.
When a homeless person is housed in a shelter, they are unable to take their pets with them and are separated from their fur babies.
That's where vineyards come in.
On Saturday, Vineyard Farm showcased some of the homeless pets that need volunteers to stay in their kennels and continue their work.
Volunteers at Vineyard Farm said they needed more help, including handlers, walking and feeding pets, and maintaining kennels.
Sister Marcia Allen, executive director, said they are also accepting donations of pet supplies.
