JOHNSTOWN, Pa. – AmeriServ Financial is offering new services to the community that can be accessed anytime, anywhere, bank officials said.
Susan Tomella Angeletti, senior vice president and director of corporate marketing at AmeriServe, said the bank introduced the Bank Chat podcast to help educate listeners about finances.
“We want to give you the tools you need to start a good journey in terms of financial freedom,” she said.
Hosted by Drew Schneck, VP of Digital Marketing at AmeriServ, this podcast includes discussions with financial experts on a wide range of financial topics.
New episodes are published on the third Tuesday of each month and are available on major podcast channels or on AmeriServ's website, ameriserv.com.
In addition, short 15-minute episodes called “2 Cents” feature discussions between Schneck and his co-hosts about news and economic topics of concern.
In addition to hosting the podcast, Mr. Schneck leads AmeriServ's website, social media channels, video production, and television and radio commercials.
“I think the most rewarding thing about podcasting is being able to reach listeners wherever they are at any time,” Schneck said.
“Podcasts allow you to listen to them on your commute to work or on your run. I think there is a need and desire for people to have financial education, and we are happy to help provide that.”
AmeriServ has been producing podcasts from its headquarters at 216 Franklin Street in Johnstown since August.
The podcast replaced in-person seminars hosted by AmeriServe that were canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
“It really took off,” Tomera Angeletti said. “I don’t know if we will go back to conducting in-person seminars because this is more widespread and doesn’t matter where you are.”
