Marketing horror movies is an art form in itself. From classics such as exorcist To recent examples like blair witch project, paranormal activity,Furthermore smile, a good marketing campaign has always been a hallmark of the horror genre. And already in 2024, long legsA mysterious new serial killer movie directed by Nicolas Cage.
Neon's marketing campaign for this film is mostly based on things we don't know. The studio has released a variety of creepy teaser trailers, including image, none of which explains the movie (and probably doesn't show anything from the movie). But all of this makes me uneasy.
All the teaser images and videos seem to center around a family who are victims of some kind of occult killer who has invaded their home. Meanwhile, we see FBI agents digging up something, a bloody nun, and even a woman holding a knife to her own stomach. It's wonderful, creepy, and most importantly, so disturbing and weird that you can't help but wonder what it has to do with the movie.
In an age where most trailers introduce the entire movie in just three minutes; long legs's trailer tells us almost nothing about the movie. Instead, they are fully invested in the vibe. They paint a very creepy picture of a wonderfully scary movie. This is a great way to get horror movie fans into the theater.
As for the actual movie, it appears to follow a serial killer who has been active for many years, as the trailer shows reports of crimes from 1974 to at least 1992. Maika Monroe (it follows) stars in the film as an FBI agent investigating these crimes, and we know that Nicolas Cage is in the film — possibly as the killer, but we don't know for sure. yeah.
long legs Directed by Osgood Perkins, he specializes in a particular brand of dark and brooding horror, often resulting in particularly disturbing results such as: gretel and hansel or girl in black.
long legs It is expected to hit theaters later this year.
