I’m open about my commitments.” Stewart wrote. “SMU is a great school with great potential for me to succeed, but I want to carefully consider my options. With that said, I am announcing his resignation from SMU. Thank you for respecting my decision.”

He recently received an offer from Texas running backs coach Tashard Choice, and he immediately made a strong impression.
Stewart was in Austin for a solid junior day in January as the Longhorns look to ramp up their pursuit of him.
“I'm so excited to be here today. It's the most real experience I've ever had.” Stewart spoke to Inside Texas after the visit.. “I was really happy when I got the offer. Coach Sark and Coach Choice, they are great coaches. Two coaches that I have built a real bond with. I’m learning to be.”
Stewart, who is 5-foot-11 and weighs 180 pounds, is listed as the No. 282 overall prospect and No. 22 tailback in the 2025 cycle. On3 industry ranking, A weighted average using all four major recruitment media companies. He is also the No. 51 player in the state of Texas.
Charles Power, director of scouting and rankings for On3, praises the Lone Star State's prospects.
“He's at his best as an outside one-cut perimeter runner,” Power said. “You can see that he's very good in a zone blocking scheme. He's a slasher, a guy who has the speed of play to get downhill right away and hit the hole and pick apart the defense he's facing.
…He's shown good contact balance as well, which is encouraging and something we're looking for as a running back. He overcomes arm tackles and maximizes his yards, and I think it shows on film and on the stat sheet. ”
