houston – Houston small business owner Kalia O. Guillory won't have to pay for her baggage on her way to the Grammys after USPS mail delivery delays affected her business.
United Airlines released a statement Tuesday saying it would sponsor Mr. Guillory. 10 bags while she travels to Los Angeles.
“As Houston's hometown airline, United is pleased to support Kalia's trip to the Grammys. Our commitment to the Houston community is to fly our customers safely when and where they need to be. We take pride in showing “Good Leads The Way” by supporting our customers through every aspect of their journey. When our team learned of Kalia's unexpected situation and the need to transport her products to Los Angeles, we reached out and sponsored the cost of her luggage. A recent example of this, said Phil Griffith, vice president of airport operations for United Airlines, is that:
KPRC 2's Rechelle Turner contacted United Airlines on Monday to get the help she needed.
Mr. Guillory, owner and CEO of Nap Bar, previously told Mr. Turner that mail delays had cost him thousands of dollars.
Nap Bar is “Texas' first snooze payment facility.” The company's website further states, “We provide on-site and in-suite rest areas to communities and businesses to alleviate sleep deprivation and improve productivity.”
Guillory's team recently packed their bags for an exhibition at the Artist Lounge in Los Angeles, but their bags never left Texas.
She is currently traveling on Wednesdays to deliver items to the Grammy Awards, which will be held on February 4th.
