Marie Tribe of Sault Ste. Chippewa Indians is seeking input from the community to help shape the future of health care services the tribe provides to the region. The tribe will hold a town hall meeting on Feb. 7 from 5 to 6:30 p.m. at the Manistique Tribal Community Center in Manistique to gather input from patients and community members.
“Our mission has always been to provide quality, patient-centered care that is respectful, sensitive, and responsive to individual, family, community, and cultural needs,” said Sioux Tribe President Austin Laws. Stated. “We need to understand what is working well within our health system, what changes we would like to see, what new services we need, and what health priorities are for our communities. We want to hear from the community about what it should be.”
The town hall is part of a broader clinic operations assessment and community health needs assessment that the tribe is conducting. Other activities to assess potential changes and improvements include evaluating health system data, conducting staff and community surveys and interviews, and analyzing market needs.

Clinic employees will be invited to participate by filling out a survey with discussion questions, rather than attending a town hall.
