Fresh off signing the nation's No. 1 running back for the 2024 cycle in Taylor Tatum, DeMarco Murray will be back in action for the 2025 recruiting class.
The recruiting trail has been solid since the Sooners' running backs coach took over the role. In fact, I'd say he's getting even better.
2025 brings new prospects, new relationships and new challenges for Malaya. Due to Oklahoma's depth at running backs, Oklahoma likely won't have a back three like they did in 2024, but that doesn't mean the team will be any less quality.
Torrey Blaylock, one of the best running backs in Texas, is attracting the attention of Oklahoma State. Apparently, Junior Day went well for the Sooners. Three rival FutureCasts were recorded in favor of the Sooners landing Blaylock.
OUInsider's Parker Thune and Brandon Drumm each recorded predictions favoring Oklahoma. So is Landin Rossow, who covers the Texas A&M Aggies for Rivals.

During the visit, Blaylock's social media presence was active and he generally seemed to be enjoying Norman with his family.
Blaylock is a 5-foot-11 every-down back from track. As a freshman, he recorded several sub-11 second times in his 100-meter dash, including his 10.70 seconds and his 10.83 seconds. He also shows explosiveness, power, and his ability as a pass catcher out of the backfield. In short, it's a complete bag.
The University of Oklahoma's efforts on Junior Day seem to have resonated with Blaylock and his family. The Sooners are in prime position to land their first running back in 2025.
He has NFL pedigree. His father, Derrick Blaylock, played five seasons with the Kansas City Chiefs and New York Jets after his collegiate career at Stephen F. Austin.
The Oklahoma Sooners currently do not have a running back finalized for the 2025 cycle, but if Futurecast holds up, they could move closer to the first runner in the class.
