The Erie County Health Department and Erie County Community Health Center announced a recent award from the Department of Health Resources and Services for exemplary efforts in providing high-quality health care services, according to a news release.
These organizations received two prestigious awards in 2023.
The Erie County Health Department and Erie County Regional Health Center received a Silver Award in the Community Health Quality Assessment, ranking them in the top 20 percent of health centers nationwide for outstanding clinical performance, according to the release.
In addition, each organization received the Advancing Health Information Technology for Quality award, highlighting their commitment to leveraging technology to improve healthcare outcomes, according to the release.
This approval from the Health Resources and Services Administration highlights Erie County officials' innovative approach to health information management and technology integration, the release states.
Erie County Health Department Director Peter T. Shade expressed his gratitude.
“We are extremely honored to be once again recognized by the (Health Resources and Services Administration) for our public health efforts,” Shade said in the release. “These awards are a testament to the hard work and dedication of our entire team and reflect our continued commitment to providing the highest level of health care services to the residents of Erie County.”
The agencies' commitment to integrated and comprehensive care extends beyond primary, dental, and mental health services by seamlessly integrating medical services with programs such as WIC, lead hazard management, immunization, and environmental health. , creating a holistic approach to community well-being. says the release.
This award follows the Agency's 2022 Regional Healthcare Quality Assessment Award (Bronze Award).
