Danville native Seth Hale emerged as a standout student-athlete at SAU Tech and was recognized as a 2023 ACC Academic All-Star.
Hale is currently pursuing a major in engineering technology at SAU Tech and hopes to transfer to a four-year university and delve deeper into the world of aerospace engineering.
Hale's journey toward a career in aerospace engineering began with a career search in middle school. Although he had always been fascinated by space, he knew he did not want to pursue astronomy. By combining his talent for science with his interest in designing things, Hale found a perfect synergy in aerospace engineering. His dream is that one day he will work for NASA and contribute to the design and development of spacecraft.
Hale is now a valued member of the SAU Tech Baseball team. But his journey in college sports took an unexpected turn. He initially attended ATU where he showcased his athletic ability as a football player. Unfortunately, an injury forced him to make a difficult decision and step away from football. Hale decided to continue in the sport and found a new home at SAU Tech, where he now contributes his skills to the baseball team.
Reflecting on his academic journey, Hale attributes much of his success to the influence of his family. His parents instilled in him early on the importance of getting good grades. Over time, Hale developed a passion for academic excellence and found satisfaction in being a high-achieving student.
“It’s really an honor,” Seth said when asked what it meant to him to be named an ACC Academic All-Star. “Every school chooses one student, and this school chose me. I'm very honored.”
Originally talented in math and science, Hale honed her skills at SAU Tech, where she excelled in engineering technology studies. His commitment to both academics and athletics embodies a holistic approach to personal and professional development. Hale continues to make strides toward his dream of contributing to space exploration and is an inspiration to aspiring students and athletes alike.
